Summary

Turtle Top is recalling 3 vehicles including the 2024 Van Terra, Terra Transit, Odyssey, and Odyssey XL. These vehicles are equipped with Freedman GO-ES Space Saver Foldaway Seats where the recliner mechanism may fail to engage when the seat back is fully reclined. Turtle Top, in coordination with the seat manufacturer Freedman, will inspect and repair the affected seats free of charge.

Risk

If the recliner mechanism does not lock properly, the seat back could suddenly release when force is applied to the shoulder belt. This failure increases the risk of injury during a crash because the seat and occupant may not be properly secured.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if you own a 2024 Turtle Top Van Terra, Terra Transit, Odyssey, or Odyssey XL vehicle equipped with Freedman GO-ES Space Saver Foldaway Seats.
  2. Contact Turtle Top customer service at 1-800-296-2105 to schedule a free inspection and repair of the seat recliner mechanism.
  3. Check your mail for the official owner notification letter, which was sent out starting June 21, 2024.
  4. For additional questions, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
