Summary

SalesOne is recalling about 8,400 light up ear plug jewelry pieces sold at Spencer Gifts. These ear plugs contain a coin-cell battery meant to illuminate decorative patterns but can leak battery acid while being worn. There have been 13 reports of consumers suffering burn injuries due to leaking battery acid. Consumers should immediately stop using these ear plugs and contact SalesOne for a full refund or a non-battery replacement.

Risk

The coin-cell battery inside the jewelry can leak battery acid directly into or onto the ear lobe. This exposure to acid poses a significant chemical burn hazard to the consumer's skin.
