General Motors, LLC: Brightdrop Zevo 600 Recalled for Roof Rail Air Bag Deployment Issues

Summary

General Motors is recalling 234 of its 2023-2024 Brightdrop Zevo 600 vehicles that are equipped with an optional passenger jump seat. These vehicles may have had an incorrect trim panel installed on the passenger-side upper B-pillar. This incorrect panel can physically block the right-side roof-rail air bag from deploying as intended during a crash. Owners will be contacted to have their vehicles inspected and repaired by a dealer at no cost.

Risk

If the air bag cannot deploy correctly because of the trim panel interference, it may not provide the necessary protection during a collision, which increases the risk of occupant injury.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your vehicle is a 2023-2024 Brightdrop Zevo 600 specifically equipped with the optional passenger jump seat.
  2. Contact BrightDrop Service Operations and Support at 1-888-987-4377 to see if your vehicle is included in this recall (GM recall number N232420460).
  3. Schedule a free appointment with an authorized dealer to have the right-side B-pillar trim inspected and replaced if necessary.
  4. For additional information, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
