Summary

Autocar, LLC is recalling approximately 557 of its 2021-2023 Autocar Xpeditor (ACX) trucks. The right-side stand-up door latch on these vehicles may have been assembled incorrectly, which can prevent the door from latching securely. Dealers will inspect and reassemble the door latch assembly as necessary, free of charge.

Risk

An incorrectly assembled door latch may allow the door to open unexpectedly while the truck is in operation. This creates a significant hazard by increasing the risk of a crash or the potential for an occupant to fall from the vehicle.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking for 2021-2023 Autocar Xpeditor (ACX) truck models.
  2. Contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611 to discuss the recall (reference recall number ACX-2306) and schedule a free inspection.
  3. Take your vehicle to an authorized dealer who will inspect the right-side stand-up door latch and reassemble it correctly at no cost to you.
  4. For further information or questions, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
