Summary

Hubbell Incorporated (Delaware) is recalling approximately 2,500 Wirecon SCD Duplex Receptacles, part number WDRU15WT. These electrical outlets may have reversed plug blade openings on one of the two outlet faces, which can lead to electrical failure and overheating. Hubbell notified vehicle manufacturers of the defect on November 9, 2023, and will provide owners with a free replacement receptacle or a full refund.

Risk

The reversed internal wiring of the plug blade openings can cause the electrical outlet to fail during use. This failure creates a significant risk of electrical arcing and heat buildup, which can increase the risk of a fire.
