Summary

Hino Motors Sales U.S.A., Inc. is recalling approximately 970 vehicles, including 2022-2023 NE7A, NJ7A, NJ7B, and NV7A truck models equipped with a 50-gallon fuel tank. In these vehicles, the fuel pickup tube may be too long and contact the bottom of the fuel tank, which restricts the amount of fuel reaching the engine. This defect can lead to an unexpected engine stall while driving, and dealers will replace the fuel tube with a corrected version at no cost to the owner.

Risk

A restricted fuel supply can cause the engine to suddenly stall while the vehicle is in motion, which increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's model and year to see if you have a 2022-2023 Hino NE7A, NJ7A, NJ7B, or NV7A truck equipped with a 50-gallon fuel tank.
  2. Verify if your vehicle is included by contacting Hino customer service at 1-248-699-9390 and referencing recall number AASJ0.
  3. Schedule a free appointment with an authorized Hino dealer to have the fuel pickup tube replaced.
