Reser's Fine Foods, Inc. is recalling approximately 499,860 units of various crema sauces, dressings, and taco kits sold under the Don Pancho, HEB, Costco, and Home Chef brands. The recall was initiated because these products contains Cotija cheese that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The affected products were distributed in 16 states across the U.S. and include meal kits and multi-pack sauce bottles. No incidents or injuries have been reported to date.
The products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Listeria infection can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
