Summary

Reebok-CCM is recalling about 2,100 pairs of Reebok EP20K Senior (SR) Hockey Elbow Pads in the United States and approximately 1,600 in Canada. The molded foam padding inside these pads can crack, fracture, or split during use, which leaves the elbow unprotected. One incident involving a broken elbow has been reported in Canada. These pads are white with grey and black fabric and were sold at retail hockey stores and through the Reebok-CCM website between April and November 2013.

Risk

The internal foam padding can fail and break apart inside the pad. If this occurs, the gear will not provide the intended impact protection, which can lead to serious injuries such as bone fractures if a player falls or is hit.

What You Should Do

  1. Immediately stop using the recalled Reebok EP20K Senior (SR) Hockey Elbow Pads.
  2. Check the inside label of your elbow pads for product code 'K101SR EP20K' and the words '20K PRO' on the forearm to confirm if your gear is included in this recall.
  3. Return the elbow pads to the original place of purchase for a full refund or a replacement pair.
  4. Alternatively, you may return the product directly to Reebok-CCM Hockey Inc. for a replacement. Contact CCM Hockey at 800-451-4600 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or by email at returns@reebokccm.com for instructions.
  5. Visit http://reebokccm.com and click on the 'Recall' button for more information and to view the official recall notice.
