Summary

Approximately 227 Basin model Columbus™ folding camping chairs are being recalled because they were found to contain several varieties of mold. These blue, foam-padded polyester chairs have adjustable side straps and were sold exclusively at Big 5 Sporting Goods stores between April 2012 and October 2012. While no incidents have been reported, consumers should immediately stop using the chairs and return them to the store for a full refund.

Risk

The mold found on the chairs can cause respiratory or other infections, particularly in individuals with chronic health problems or those with impaired immune systems.

  1. Check your chair for the 'Columbus' brand name, which is printed on the outer side of the back of the seat, above a mesh pocket.
