Summary

Nissan North America is recalling 27,388 vehicles, including 2022 Titan, Titan XD, and Frontier trucks, and 2021-2022 Rogue SUVs. The in-vehicle infotainment system in these vehicles may continuously reboot when the car is restarted, causing the rearview camera display to fail. This failure prevents the driver from seeing behind the vehicle while reversing, which can be corrected with a free software update provided by dealers or delivered over-the-air (OTA).

Risk

A failed rearview camera display significantly reduces the driver's visibility of people or objects behind the vehicle when backing up, which increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your vehicle is one of the affected models: 2022 Nissan Titan, 2022 Nissan Titan XD, 2022 Nissan Frontier, or 2021-2022 Nissan Rogue.
  2. Check your vehicle's infotainment system for any available Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates and follow the on-screen prompts to install the fix.
  3. If you cannot perform an over-the-air update, contact any authorized Nissan dealer to schedule a free software update for your vehicle's infotainment system.
