Summary

General Motors is recalling 95,231 vehicles, including certain 2020-2021 Cadillac XT5, XT6, and GMC Acadia models equipped with the optional Surround Vision feature. The rearview camera's coaxial cable connectors may have been improperly crimped, which can cause the camera to fail or work only intermittently. Dealers will replace the affected coaxial cables free of charge to ensure the rearview system functions reliably.

Risk

A failed or intermittent rearview camera significantly reduces the driver's visibility of the area behind the vehicle when reversing, which increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your vehicle is a 2020-2021 Cadillac XT5, Cadillac XT6, or GMC Acadia equipped with the optional Surround Vision feature.
  2. Contact a Cadillac or GMC dealer to schedule a free replacement of the rearview camera coaxial cables.
  3. For specific questions regarding your vehicle, contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782, referencing GM recall number N222378380.
  4. For additional information, you may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
