Summary

Toyota is recalling approximately 144,200 Lexus vehicles because the rearview camera image may fail to display when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. This recall affects certain 2022-2025 NX350 and NX250 models, 2023-2026 RX350 models, and 2024-2026 TX350 models. Dealers will either update the camera software or replace the camera hardware entirely at no cost to the owner.

Risk

If the rearview image does not display, the driver's visibility behind the vehicle is significantly reduced, which increases the risk of hitting a person or object and causing a crash. While no injuries have been reported, the vehicles fail to comply with federal safety standards for rear visibility.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is included in this recall by checking the year and model of your Lexus NX350 (2022-2025), NX250 (2022-2025), RX350 (2023-2026), or TX350 (2024-2026).
  2. Contact an authorized Lexus dealer to schedule a free repair, which will involve a camera software update or a full camera replacement depending on your vehicle's needs.
  3. If you have questions, contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331 and reference recall numbers 26LB02 or 26LA02.
  4. Call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for more information regarding this safety recall.
