Summary

Nissan North America is recalling 5,176 model year 2025 INFINITI QX80 vehicles equipped with the Around View Monitor system. A software error can cause the rearview camera image to freeze or display a blank screen when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, preventing the driver from seeing behind them. Dealerships will provide a free software update to resolve this safety issue.

Risk

The loss of the rearview camera image reduces the driver's visibility while backing up, which significantly increases the risk of hitting a person or object.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking if you own a 2025 INFINITI QX80 equipped with an Around View Monitor (AVM).
  2. Contact any local INFINITI dealership to schedule an appointment for a free software update to the Around View Monitor system.
  3. If you have questions, contact INFINITI customer service at 1-800-662-6200 and reference Nissan recall numbers R24B5 or R24C2.
