Jayco, Inc: Rearview Camera Image May Not Display/FMVSS 111

Summary

Jayco, Inc. is recalling 1,245 motorhomes across several 2023-2025 models, including Entegra Ethos, Ethos LI, Arc, Jayco Swift, Swift LI, and Comet. A software defect in the radio system may prevent the rearview camera image from appearing when the vehicle is in reverse, which fails to meet federal safety standards for rear visibility. Jayco will provide a free radio software update, which may be delivered automatically over-the-air or performed by a dealer.

Risk

If the rearview camera image fails to display while backing up, the driver's visibility behind the vehicle is significantly reduced, which increases the risk of hitting a person or object and causing a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your vehicle is one of the following affected models: 2023-2025 Entegra Ethos, Ethos LI, Arc, or 2023-2025 Jayco Swift, Swift LI, and Comet.
  2. Check your radio system for an over-the-air (OTA) software update notification; the fix can be installed automatically without visiting a dealership.
  3. If you cannot perform the update yourself, contact a Jayco dealer to schedule a free software update repair.
  4. For further information or to confirm your vehicle's status, contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267 or FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (referencing Jayco recall number FCA 24V-436).
  5. Contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for more details.
