Summary

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling approximately 1,033,433 vehicles including various 2021-2023 Dodge Durango, Chrysler Pacifica, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, and Ram Promaster models. The radio software in these vehicles may prevent the rearview camera image from appearing when the vehicle is in reverse. Chrysler is offering a free software update to fix the issue, which may be delivered automatically over-the-air or performed by a dealer.

Risk

If the rearview camera image fails to display, the driver's visibility behind the vehicle is significantly reduced. This increases the risk of hitting a person or object while backing up, potentially leading to a crash or injury.

  2. Identify if your vehicle has already received the 'Over-The-Air' (OTA) software update by checking your system settings or contact a dealer to verify if your vehicle's radio software version is current.
  3. If your vehicle has not received the automatic update, contact an authorized FCA US, LLC dealer to schedule a free radio software update.
