Summary

Polaris Industries is recalling 22,218 Slingshot vehicles, including 2020-2023 Slingshot R, SL, GT, S, S Tech, and SLR models equipped with Ride Command Software. The rearview camera image in these vehicles may freeze or display a blank screen when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, which violates federal safety standards for rear visibility. Dealers will provide a free software update to resolve the technical error and restore proper camera function.

Risk

A blank or frozen rearview camera screen significantly reduces the driver's visibility while backing up. This malfunction prevents the driver from seeing obstacles or pedestrians behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking your model and year: 2020 Slingshot GT, 2021-2023 Slingshot S, 2021-2023 Slingshot S Tech, 2020-2023 Slingshot R, 2020-2023 Slingshot SL, or 2022-2023 Slingshot SLR.
  2. Contact an authorized Polaris dealer to schedule a free appointment for the Ride Command software update.
