Summary

Volkswagen is recalling 4 units of the 2022 Audi Q3 because of a manufacturing error that can cause the rear window to crack or break unexpectedly. This defect can lead to loose glass pieces falling inside or outside the vehicle, creating a hazard for occupants and bystanders. Dealers will inspect the manufacturing date of the rear window and replace it with a new one at no cost to the owner.

Risk

A manufacturing defect in the glass can cause the rear window to suddenly shatter into loose pieces. This creates a risk of lacerations or other injuries to vehicle occupants and increases the danger to others on the road from falling debris.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if you own a 2022 Audi Q3 vehicle.
  2. Contact an authorized Audi dealer to schedule a free inspection of your vehicle's rear window manufacturing date.
  3. If the dealer determines the window was manufactured during the error period (Recall Number 64H4), they will replace the glass free of charge.
  4. For further information, contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834 and reference recall number 64H4.
  5. Call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for additional details.
