Summary

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling approximately 139,019 of its 2021-2023 Dodge Durango SUVs because the rear spoiler may not be correctly aligned with the roof. This misalignment can cause the spoiler to strike the roof when the liftgate is opened or closed, leading to damage. If the spoiler becomes damaged, it could unexpectedly detach from the vehicle while driving. Dealers will inspect the spoiler and replace it if necessary at no cost to the owner.

Risk

A damaged or loose rear spoiler can fly off the vehicle while it is in motion, creating an immediate road hazard for following drivers and significantly increasing the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Confirm if your vehicle is included in this recall by checking if you own a 2021, 2022, or 2023 Dodge Durango.
  2. Look for signs of damage or misalignment where the rear spoiler meets the roof, especially when opening or closing the liftgate.
  3. Contact any authorized Chrysler or Dodge dealer to schedule a free inspection and, if necessary, a replacement of the rear spoiler.
  4. If you have questions, contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and reference recall number 20A.
  5. For additional information, you may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
