Summary

Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling approximately 161,000 vehicles, including certain 2020-2022 GLE350, GLE450, GLS450, and several other 2020-2022 GLE and GLS models. A manufacturing error can cause the rear door window trim bars to detach from the vehicle while driving. Authorized dealers will inspect and secure these trim bars free of charge to prevent them from falling off.

Risk

If the trim bars detach while the vehicle is in motion, they can fall into the roadway and become a hazard for other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash or injury to people outside the vehicle.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your vehicle is one of the affected models: 2020-2022 GLE350, GLE450, GLS450; 2021-2022 AMG GLE53; 2020-2021 GLE580, GLS580; or 2021 GLE400e, AMG GLS63, AMG GLE63 S, and Maybach GLS600.
  2. Contact an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair of your rear window trim bars.
  3. If you have questions, contact Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 and mention recall number 2022090010.
