Summary

Aluminum Trailer Company (ATC) is recalling approximately 650 trailers across several model lines because a software error can cause the radio and speakers to overheat. Affected models include the PL500, PL700, RM500, RM900, ST450, PL550, PL750, PR300, RM450, RM550, and RM800 from the 2023-2025 model years. ATC will work with Maxxsonics to provide owners with a software update via a USB drive and will inspect and replace any damaged speakers free of charge.

Risk

A software defect in the audio system can lead to the radio and speakers reaching excessively high temperatures, which significantly increases the risk of a fire inside the vehicle.
