Summary

LDV, Inc. is recalling 26 of its 2013 and 2019-2022 Emergency Response vehicles because the service valves on their propane tanks may have been connected improperly. These vehicles are equipped with Manchester propane tanks using model numbers 6829 and 6830 and part numbers 901C3 and 901C5. LDV will provide owners with free inspection instructions and replacement valves to fix the issue.

Risk

The improperly connected valves can cause propane to leak from the tanks. If this leaking propane is exposed to an ignition source, it can cause a fire, increasing the risk of property damage and injury.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's documentation or the propane tank itself to see if it is a Manchester propane tank with model numbers 6829 or 6830 and part numbers 901C3 or 901C5.
  2. If your vehicle is affected, contact LDV customer service at 1-800-558-5986 to obtain inspection instructions and arrange for free replacement valves.
  3. Refer to LDV recall number 22E-082 when contacting the manufacturer.
  4. For additional information, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
