Summary

Newmar Corporation is recalling approximately 1,060 motorhomes, including 2022 Mountain Aire, Dutch Star, Ventana, 2021-2023 Bay Star, Canyon Star, and 2022-2023 Kountry Star and Bay Star Sport models. The service valves on the Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) tanks may have been improperly connected during manufacturing, which can lead to a propane leak. Authorized dealers will inspect and replace the service valves as necessary at no cost to owners.

Risk

A propane leak in the presence of an ignition source, such as a pilot light or spark, significantly increases the risk of a fire.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is one of the affected models: 2022 Mountain Aire, Dutch Star, or Ventana; 2021-2023 Bay Star or Canyon Star; or 2022-2023 Kountry Star or Bay Star Sport.
  2. Contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300 to confirm if your specific motorhome is included in this recall.
  3. If your vehicle is affected, schedule an appointment with an authorized Newmar dealer to have the LPG tank service valves inspected and replaced free of charge.
  4. For further information, you may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
