Precor is recalling about 834 Resolute Cable Multi-Station exercise machines (Model No. RMS905). The pulley carriage on these units can drop unexpectedly if the locking pop-pin fails to fully engage the vertical rail. Precor has received nine reports of the pulley dropping, including two incidents resulting in minor head injuries. These machines were sold to gyms nationwide between July 2023 and October 2024 for approximately $3,000 to $3,340.
The pop-pin used to adjust the height of the pulley can fail to lock into place on the vertical rail, causing the heavy pulley assembly to fall suddenly during an exercise. This poses a significant impact injury hazard to users, and multiple injuries have already been reported.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled exercise equipment. Precor is directly contacting all known gyms with the recalled exercise equipment to coordinate a free on-site repair by a qualified service technician, including installation of a redesigned pop-pin and a missing warning label.
Measures 68 inches x 58 inches x 94 inches. Model number label is located on the underside of the top frame.
