Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc.: Powerglide Chassis Fuse Overheating May Cause Engine Stall

Summary

Tiffin Motorhomes is recalling approximately 315 motorhomes, including certain 2022 Zephyr, 2022-2023 Phaeton, Allegro Breeze, and Allegro Bus models built on a Powerglide chassis. A fuse within the chassis system can overheat while the vehicle is being driven, which may cause the dashboard display to go dark and the engine to suddenly shut down. Dealers will inspect and replace the defective fuse with a proper component free of charge.

Risk

If the chassis fuse overheats and fails while the motorhome is in motion, the engine can stall unexpectedly. A sudden loss of engine power while driving increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your motorhome is affected by checking your vehicle's make, model, and year: this recall includes 2022 Zephyr, 2022-2023 Phaeton, 2022-2023 Allegro Breeze, and 2022-2023 Allegro Bus motorhomes equipped with a Powerglide chassis.
  2. Contact Tiffin Motorhomes customer service at 1-256-356-8661 to confirm if your specific vehicle is part of recall TIF-126.
  3. Schedule a free appointment with an authorized dealer to have the chassis fuse inspected and replaced as necessary.
  4. Refer to the owner notification letter mailed on August 31, 2022, for additional manufacturer instructions.
