Summary

Ford Motor Company is recalling 47,818 Lincoln Nautilus vehicles from the 2024-2025 model years due to a defect in the power window system. The window automatic reversal system may fail to react correctly when it detects an obstruction, and the reversal distance does not meet federal safety requirements. To fix this, dealers will recalibrate the door control modules at no cost to owners.

Risk

A closing window may exert excessive force by pinching a driver or passenger before retracting, which increases the risk of physical injury. This failure violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 118 regarding power-operated window systems.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your vehicle is a 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus and locate your VIN to verify coverage on the NHTSA website.
  2. Dealers will recalibrate the driver door module (DDM) and the passenger door module (PDM), free of charge.
  3. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference Ford's recall number 24C43.
  4. If you received an owner notification letter (mailed starting February 28, 2025), follow the instructions to schedule your free service appointment.
  5. For additional questions, contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
