Summary

Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. is recalling 10 of its 2018-2019 and 2024-2026 G5E transit buses due to a potential failure in the power steering pump. The pump may either fail to start when the vehicle is turned on or could shut down unexpectedly while driving, causing a sudden loss of steering assistance. Dealers will provide a free software update to the power steering pump to resolve the issue.

Risk

A sudden loss of power steering assist can make the bus significantly harder to steer, especially during low-speed maneuvers. This increases the physical effort required by the driver and raises the risk of a crash.
