Summary

Nissan North America, Inc. is recalling 4,036 of their 2023-2024 Nissan Z vehicles due to a wiring defect. The connectors for the right-side pedestrian detection sensors may be incorrectly installed, which can prevent the vehicle's pop-up engine hood from activating during a crash. Dealers will replace the front bumper harness free of charge to resolve this issue.

Risk

If the vehicle is involved in a collision with a pedestrian, the pop-up engine hood may fail to deploy, which increases the risk of injury to the pedestrian.

What You Should Do

  1. Contact an authorized Nissan dealer to schedule a service appointment to have the front bumper harness replaced, free of charge.
  2. If you have questions regarding your vehicle's eligibility or the recall process, contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 and reference recall number R24B6.
