Summary

Polaris has recalled approximately 4,300 Model Year 2015 Youth RZR 170 EFI recreational off-highway vehicles because the fuel pump's retaining ring can leak. This fuel leak creates a serious fire hazard. These vehicles were sold in red and blue colors at Polaris dealers nationwide from October 2014 through June 2015. Consumers should immediately stop using these vehicles and contact a dealer for a free repair.

Risk

The vehicle's fuel pump retaining ring can leak gasoline, which can ignite and cause a fire. While no injuries have been reported, a fuel leak poses a significant risk of fire and burns to the operator and passengers.

What You Should Do

  1. Immediately stop using the recalled Polaris Youth RZR 170 EFI vehicle.
  2. Check your vehicle's VIN to see if it is included in the recall. The VIN is located on the left-hand front frame tube. Affected VINs fall between RF3YAV170FT000076 and RF3YAV17XFT005141.
  3. Identify your model by the decals: Blue models have '170 EFI' on the hood and 'RZR' on the front fenders; Red models have '170 EFI' on the front fenders and 'RZR' on the rear fenders.
  4. Contact your local Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair of the fuel pump retaining ring.
  5. For more information, contact Polaris toll-free at 888-704-5290 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit www.polaris.com and click on 'Product Safety Recalls'.
