Summary

Polaris has recalled approximately 780 Model Year 2023 Timbersled ARO and RIOT Pro snow bike conversion kits. These kits are used to replace the tires on off-road motorcycles or dirt bikes with a front ski and rear track system for snow use. A fastener in the QuickDrive system can loosen while the bike is being operated, which can lead to total brake failure. Consumers should immediately stop using these kits and contact an authorized Polaris dealer to arrange for a free repair. Polaris is also directly contacting all registered owners of the affected equipment.

Risk

The QuickDrive fastener can loosen during operation, causing the brakes to fail and creating a significant crash hazard. There have been seven reports of loose fasteners to date, although no crashes or injuries have been reported.
