Summary

Polaris is recalling about 1,300 model year 2018 RZR XP Turbo S recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs) sold in Indy Red and Polaris Blue. The rollover protection structure (ROPS) on these vehicles can fracture during a high-speed rollover, failing to protect the occupants. Polaris has received six reports of these structures breaking during rollovers, including one report of an injury. These vehicles were sold at Polaris dealers nationwide from January 2018 through August 2018 for approximately $27,500. Owners should contact a Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair.

Risk

If the vehicle rolls over at high speeds, the protective cage (ROPS) can break, significantly increasing the risk of serious injury or death because it no longer provides a safe space for the occupants.

What You Should Do

  1. Immediately stop using the recalled 2018 Polaris RZR XP Turbo S vehicles until they have been repaired.
  2. Check your vehicle to see if it is included by looking for 'POLARIS' on the front grille and under the doors, and 'RZR' on the rear fenders.
  3. Locate your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and Model Number on the label affixed to the vehicle frame in the left front wheel well. The affected model numbers are Z18VEL92BR (Indy Red) and Z18VEL92BK (Polaris Blue).
  4. Verify your VIN on the Polaris 'Product Safety Recalls' page at www.polaris.com to confirm your vehicle is part of this recall.
  5. Contact a Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair of the rollover protection structure.
  6. For more information, contact Polaris at 800-765-2747 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit the 'Off Road Safety Recalls' section at www.polaris.com.
  7. Contact the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772 for additional questions regarding this safety alert.
