Summary

Polaris is recalling approximately 27,300 model year 2021 RZR XP Turbo and RZR Turbo S recreational off-road vehicles sold in two-seat and four-seat configurations. The vehicles' clutches can fracture and eject fragments, which has resulted in 206 reports of failures, including six fires, two injuries, and one vehicle tip-over. Affected vehicles were sold in black, blue, gray, lime, orange, and sand colors from December 2019 through September 2022. Consumers can receive a free primary clutch replacement at authorized Polaris dealers.

Risk

The vehicle's clutch can break apart during use, causing high-speed fragments to be ejected. This creates a risk of hit-and-run style injuries to occupants or bystanders and can spark fires if the fragments damage the fuel system or other flammable components.

What You Should Do

  3. Identify the vehicle by looking for 'POLARIS' on the front grille and 'POLARIS' and 'RZR' printed on the sides, along with the model name on the chassis.
  4. Immediately stop using the recalled vehicles to prevent the risk of fire or serious injury.
  5. Contact an authorized Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair, which includes a full replacement of the primary (drive) clutch.
