Summary

Polaris has recalled approximately 560 model year 2018 RZR XP 4 Turbo recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs) because an improperly secured fuel line can leak. One fire has been reported due to this defect, although no injuries have occurred. These vehicles seat four and were sold in Velocity Blue, Matte Sunset Red, and Ghost Gray at Polaris dealers nationwide between September 2017 and October 2017.

Risk

The return fuel line can be improperly secured, causing fuel to leak onto hot engine components. This creates a significant fire hazard that could lead to property damage or serious injury to the driver and passengers.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle for the following identifying markings: 'POLARIS' on the front grill, 'DOHC TURBO' and 'EPS' on the front fenders, and 'POLARIS RZR XP' on the rear fenders.
  2. Verify your vehicle is affected by checking the VIN printed on the right rear frame against the following model numbers: Z18VFE92BB (Velocity Blue), Z18VFE92BS (Matte Sunset Red), or Z18VFE92BU (Ghost Gray).
  3. Immediately stop using the recalled RZR XP 4 Turbo vehicle until it has been inspected and repaired.
  4. Contact a Polaris dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair of the fuel line assembly.
  5. You can contact Polaris directly at 800-765-2747 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit www.polaris.com and click on 'Off Road Safety Recalls' to check your VIN.
  6. Call the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772 if you have additional questions regarding this recall alert.
