Summary

Polaris is recalling about 1,600 model year 2017 GENERAL Base and GENERAL Hunter two-seat, side-by-side recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs). The vehicles were sold in red (Base model) and camo (Hunter model) at Polaris dealers nationwide from June 2016 through July 2017. These vehicles have inconsistent tire pressure information, which can lead to tires being improperly inflated and potentially causing a crash. Polaris is contacting all known purchasers directly to provide a new tire pressure label and an addendum to the owner's manual.

Risk

Inconsistent tire pressure information provided with the vehicle can result in tires being improperly inflated. This can negatively affect vehicle handling and stability, posing a serious crash hazard to the driver and passengers.

What You Should Do

  1. Immediately stop using the recalled 2017 Polaris GENERAL vehicles.
  2. Check your vehicle to see if it is a 2017 GENERAL Base model (red) or GENERAL Hunter model (camo). Look for 'Polaris' on the front grill, 'GENERAL' on the rear panel, and '1000' on the front panel.
  3. Locate your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the left rear vehicle frame below the cargo box to confirm it is part of the recall.
  4. Contact a Polaris dealer to receive a new, correct tire pressure label and an addendum for your owner's manual.
  5. You can contact Polaris at 800-765-2747 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit www.polaris.com and click on 'Off Road Safety Recalls' to check your VIN online.
  6. For more information, contact the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772 or visit www.cpsc.gov.
