Polaris is recalling approximately 7,400 Model Year 2022 MATRYX RMK, INDY, SWITCHBACK, VOYAGEUR, and NORDIC PRO snowmobiles (with an additional 3,647 sold in Canada). The throttle release switch (TRS) can fail to disengage properly, and some RMK models may have kinked throttle cables. Either condition can cause the throttle to stick open, leading to a loss of vehicle control. Polaris has received seven reports of throttle issues, including four kinked cables and three stuck throttles, though no injuries have been reported. These vehicles were sold at Polaris dealers nationwide between December 2019 and January 2022.
The throttle release switch may fail to disengage, or the throttle cable may become kinked and damaged. If the throttle sticks open while the vehicle is in motion, the rider may lose control, resulting in a crash hazard. Owners should stop using the vehicles immediately until they are inspected and repaired.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled vehicles and contact a Polaris dealer to schedule a free inspection and if needed, an adjustment of the throttle control assembly and/or a repair to replace the throttle cable (MATRYX RMK only). Polaris has notified consumers to stop riding the snowmobiles. Polaris is contacting all registered owners directly to provide more details about the repair.
