Summary

Approximately 305,000 Playtex Hip Hammock infant carriers have been recalled because the plastic buckles on the waist and shoulder straps can crack or break. Playtex has received 87 reports of these buckles failing, including two injuries where one infant required emergency room treatment. These carriers were sold in basic and deluxe styles at major retailers like Target, Walmart, and Burlington Coat Factory between June 2004 and December 2008.

Risk

The buckles on the shoulder and waist straps can break while in use, causing the infant to fall out of the carrier and onto the ground.
