Summary

Perrigo Company PLC is recalling approximately 1,688,767 bottles of various Acetaminophen Oral Suspensions (pain reliever and fever reducer) and Oxymetazoline Nasal Sprays (decongestant) due to manufacturing deviations. The products, sold under brands including Equate, Up & Up, CVS Pharmacy, and Walgreens, were manufactured with a contaminated inactive ingredient (excipient) recalled by the supplier. This recall affects over 50 specific product variants including children’s and infant suspensions in grape, cherry, strawberry, and bubblegum flavors, as well as several varieties of no-drip nasal sprays. No injuries or illnesses have been reported to date.

Risk

The medications were produced using a contaminated inactive ingredient. Using contaminated medications could pose health risks, particularly for vulnerable populations such as infants and children who are the primary users of many of these liquid suspension products.
