Summary

Blue Bird Body Company is recalling 19 of its 2024 Vision buses because the parking brake may release unexpectedly. The secondary release mechanism on these vehicles can malfunction, allowing the brake lever to move without the driver pressing the release button. This defect can lead to the vehicle rolling away while parked, which could result in a crash. Blue Bird will inspect and replace the service brake lever on affected buses at no cost to owners.

Risk

A malfunctioning parking brake allows the vehicle to roll away unexpectedly from a parked position, significantly increasing the risk of a collision or injury to bystanders.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle registration or records to confirm if you own a 2024 Blue Bird Vision bus.
  2. Contact your local Blue Bird dealer to schedule a free inspection and, if necessary, a replacement of the service brake lever.
  3. If you have questions regarding this recall, contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242.
