Summary

Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling 11,895 EQB-class vehicles because the high-voltage battery can fail internally, posing a fire risk. Affected models include the 2023-2024 EQB 250+, and the 2022-2024 EQB 300 4MATIC and EQB 350 4MATIC. Owners are advised that dealers will replace the entire high-voltage battery free of charge.

Risk

The high-voltage battery may fail internally and catch fire while the vehicle is parked or being driven, which increases the risk of injury. Because of this fire risk, owners should park their vehicles outdoors and away from structures until the repair is finished.

What You Should Do

  1. Park this vehicle outdoors, away from structures — do NOT park in a garage due to fire risk.
  2. Only charge your vehicle to a maximum of 80% battery capacity until the recall repair has been completed.
  3. Verify if your vehicle is affected by searching your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on NHTSA.gov beginning February 13, 2026.
  4. Contact any authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer to schedule a free replacement of the high-voltage battery.
  5. If you previously had repairs performed under recalls 25V050 or 25V894, you must still have this new remedy completed.
  6. Contact Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 for more information.
  7. Call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for additional questions.
