Summary

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems is recalling 1,769 Intellipark Park Valve Modules (PVM) because a rubber ball seal inside the unit can fracture. This defect causes an air leak that may lead to the parking brake failing to hold the vehicle or suddenly engaging while the vehicle is being driven. Bendix will provide free replacement valve modules to all affected owners through authorized dealers.

Risk

If the internal seal fractures, the resulting air leak can cause the parking brake to engage unexpectedly while driving or fail to engage when parked, significantly increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
