Summary

REV Ambulance Group Orlando, Inc. is recalling 76 of its 2019-2024 Type I, Type III, and Type IX emergency vehicles equipped with Weldon Vmux HC1.7 Input/Output multiplex nodes. A firmware defect in these nodes can prevent the system from shutting off power during a short circuit, leading to overloaded electrical circuits. Dealers will update the vehicle firmware to correct this safety issue at no cost to owners.

Risk

If a short circuit or wiring failure occurs, the faulty firmware may fail to cut power to the affected circuit, causing the wiring to overheat and significantly increasing the risk of a vehicle fire.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle records to determine if your 2019-2024 Type I, Type III, or Type IX REV ambulance is equipped with Weldon Vmux HC1.7 Input/Output multiplex nodes.
  2. Contact REV customer service at 1-855-661-9232 to schedule a free firmware update at a dealership.
