Summary

Spencer Manufacturing, Inc. is recalling 8 of its 2020 pumper fire trucks equipped with Weldon 8X16 Input-Output nodes. A firmware error in these nodes can prevent the system from shutting off electrical power during a short circuit or wiring failure, leading to overloaded circuits. Weldon will update the vehicle firmware for all affected owners at no cost.

Risk

The overloaded electrical circuits can overheat rapidly, which significantly increases the risk of a vehicle fire.
