Summary

Alexis Fire Equipment Company is recalling approximately 56 Apparatus fire trucks from the 2022-2023 model years. These vehicles are equipped with Weldon 8X16 Input-Output nodes that have a firmware defect. If a short circuit or wiring failure occurs, the system may fail to shut off the affected electrical circuit, causing it to overload. Dealers will update the vehicle firmware free of charge to resolve the issue.

Risk

The faulty firmware can allow electrical circuits to stay powered during a short circuit, leading to overheating of the wiring and components. This significantly increases the risk of a fire occurring within the vehicle's electrical system.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking if it is a 2022-2023 Alexis Fire Equipment Apparatus fire truck equipped with Weldon 8X16 Input-Output nodes.
  2. Contact an authorized Alexis Fire Equipment dealer to schedule a free firmware update for your vehicle's electrical system nodes.
