Summary

E-One Incorporated is recalling 408 emergency and commercial vehicles across several model lines, including ARFF, Cyclone, Typhoon, and Commercial models from years 2020 through 2024. A software error in the vehicle's electrical system may prevent the system from shutting off power during a short circuit or wiring failure, causing the circuits to become overloaded. Weldon, the equipment manufacturer, will provide a free firmware update to correct this defect.

Risk

If an electrical short occurs, the overloaded circuits can overheat rapidly. This creates a significant risk of fire which could damage the vehicle and endanger occupants or emergency personnel.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking your model and year against this list: 2021-2023 ARFF, 2021-2023 Cyclone N, 2020-2024 Commercial, 2020 and 2022-2023 Cyclone 2, 2023 Cyclone E, 2022 Typhoon, and 2020-2023 Typhoon N.
