Summary

Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corp. (KME) is recalling approximately 22 trucks including the 2020 Severe Service, 2020 Predator, and 2020 Spartan MetroStar models. A defect in the vehicle's electrical system firmware may prevent the system from shutting off power during a short circuit or wiring failure, leading to overloaded circuits. To resolve this issue, dealers will update the vehicle's firmware at no cost to the owner.

Risk

The overloaded electrical circuits can overheat significantly, which increases the risk of a vehicle fire that could lead to property damage or injury.
