Summary

Harbor Freight Tools is recalling approximately 34,570 units of the Holt Industries Deluxe Manual Fluid Extractor and Dispenser with part number 56384. When these units are used in dispense mode, the pressure relief plug can fail, causing excessive internal pressure to build up. This defect can lead to the lid suddenly and forcefully detaching from the unit. Harbor Freight is offering a free replacement lid ring and pour spout cap that includes an integrated pressure relief valve to resolve the issue.

Risk

The failure of the pressure relief plug allows excessive pressure to build within the container, which can cause the lid to detach suddenly and strike the user or bystanders, posing a significant risk of impact injuries.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your fluid dispenser to see if it is the Holt Industries Deluxe Manual Fluid Extractor and Dispenser with part number 56384.
  2. If you own an affected unit, contact Harbor Freight Tools customer service at 1-800-444-3353 to request a free repair kit.
  3. The repair kit includes a replacement lid ring and a new pour spout cap with an integrated pressure relief valve, along with installation instructions.
  4. Do not use the unit in 'dispense' mode until the new safety components have been installed.
