Summary

Daimler Trucks North America is recalling 162 school buses, including 2023-2025 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 and 2024-2025 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 Jouley models. The audible warning alarm may fail to sound when an emergency window or hatch is open, which violates federal safety standards for bus emergency exits. Owners of these vehicles should contact a dealer to receive a free software update to fix the alarm system.

Risk

If an emergency exit is left open or unlatched, the driver will not be alerted by an alarm, which increases the risk of a passenger falling out or being injured during a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your vehicle is one of the affected models: 2023-2025 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 or 2024-2025 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 Jouley.
