2026 Nissan Kicks and Sentra Recalled for Loose Front Seats

Summary

Nissan North America is recalling 15 of its 2026 Kicks and Sentra vehicles because the front seat frames may have been improperly welded. This defect can cause the front seat to become loose and fail to stay in its proper position. Dealers will replace the front seat assemblies for free to ensure they meet federal safety standards.

Risk

An insufficiently welded seat frame can come loose during operation or a collision. If the seat is not properly secured, it cannot restrain the driver or passenger as intended, significantly increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's recall status by entering your 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) at NHTSA.gov/recalls.
  2. Contact an authorized Nissan dealer to schedule a free replacement of the front seat assemblies.
  3. If you have further questions, contact Nissan customer service at 800-647-7261 and mention recall number PMA64.
  4. Call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for more information.
