Summary

Nissan North America is recalling approximately 318,782 of its 2024-2025 Rogue vehicles equipped with 1.5L 3-cylinder turbo engines. The internal gears within the electronic throttle body assembly can break, which may lead to a sudden loss of engine power while driving. Dealers will resolve the issue by updating the engine control software and, if necessary, replacing the throttle body assembly at no cost to owners.

Risk

If the throttle body gears break, the vehicle may lose drive power suddenly, which significantly increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking your 17-character Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the NHTSA website or the Nissan recall portal.
  2. Contact an authorized Nissan dealer to schedule a free service appointment.
  3. The dealer will reprogram your Engine Control Module (ECM) software and inspect or replace the electronic throttle body assembly if needed.
  4. If you have additional questions, contact Nissan customer service at 800-647-7261 and mention recall numbers R25E2, R25E3, or R25A9.
  5. Call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov/recalls for more information.
