Summary

Modular Robotics is recalling about 2,400 Dexter Industries rechargeable battery packs because they can short circuit and overheat. There have been four reports of these battery packs smoking and overheating, which creates a burn hazard for users. These black plastic-wrapped batteries were sold individually and inside GoPiGo, BrickPi, and Classroom Kit robotic bundles between March 2018 and January 2020. Modular Robotics is providing free replacement battery packs to affected consumers.
