Summary

Mirage Fashions is recalling about 758 Yoki Girls hooded faux leather jackets because they have drawstrings in the hood that can pose a strangulation risk to children. The recalled jackets were sold in girl's sizes 7 through 16 in black and charcoal gray, both featuring a gray hood. These jackets were sold exclusively at Burlington Coat Factory stores nationwide from January 2012 through August 2013 for about $20. Consumers can choose to either remove the drawstring themselves or return the jacket for a full refund.

Risk

The drawstring in the hood can become entangled with playground equipment, fences, or other objects, posing a serious strangulation or snagging hazard to children. No incidents or injuries have been reported.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your child's jacket for a 'Yoki Girls' label at the neck and a product care label on the lower left inside seam with style number JK2503G.
  2. Verify if the jacket is a hooded faux leather style in black or charcoal with a gray hood, sold in sizes 7 through 16.
  3. Immediately remove and discard the drawstrings from the neck/hood area of the jacket to eliminate the strangulation hazard.
  4. Alternatively, you can return the garment to any Burlington Coat Factory or contact Mirage Fashions at (855) 221-5888 (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET Monday through Friday) or via email at Recalls@yokisport.com for a full refund.
  5. For additional information, contact the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772.
